VPSHR Training Specialists and Advisors

Methodology

CTI provides accountable and expert training to both government and private security bodies in both the theoretical and practical application of International Human Rights Law, Principles and Standards, thus minimizing legal risk where the highest risk exists (the Human Rights bottleneck), while also aligning security arrangements with internationally accepted corporate socially responsible practices.

In order to develop capacity and create sustainability, CTI provides and advocates the provision of a ‘train the trainers’ package concurrent with the theoretical and practical Human Rights components offered.

CTI believes a dual theoretical and practical training approach is necessary in order to fully embed human rights compliance. Practical training is conducted in order to ensure security officials have the tools at their disposal to complete the tasks expected from them within Human Rights compliant parameters.

Although CTI provides training needs assessments and tailors courses on behalf of our clients, we also understand business constraints and strategy play a large role when considering any training proposal. In this regard, CTI believes that any level of training approved or requested by a client is a positive step towards compliance.

CTI also operates as an advisory service on VPSHR for clients on a retainer or ‘by project’ basis. This includes review and advice on operational environments, security plans, security services, security bids as they pertain to Human Rights.
